Champions Season - Crusaders

CrusadersCrusaders

How did they do?

The Crusaders managed to win their 11th Super Rugby title (and a sixth straight under head coach Scott Robertson) despite finishing second in the table to a commanding Blues side who had only lost once all season. In a typically dominant display, the Super Rugby Pacific final at Eden Park in Auckland in June featured the Crusaders’ signature form of power rugby from start to finish. The Crusaders demoralised the Blues on their way to a 21-7 victory, breaking the Blues’ 15-match winning streak in the process. Flyhalf Richie Mo’unga, the Crusaders’ back-to-back Super Rugby Player of the Year, majestically controlled the game while contributing 11 points. Adding to the points were scrumhalf Bryn Hall and winger Sevu Reece who scored tries either side of halftime.
