Caffeine represents one of the most utilised ergogenic aids by athletes in a wide variety of sports and across different competitive levels. Caffeine exerts its ergogenic effects through several mechanisms including its effects on the central nervous system, optimisation of muscle metabolism and substrate utilisation and increased myofibrilar calcium availability.(1),(2),(3).

Caffeine supplementation at a dose of 3-6 mg/kg body mass was shown to enhance performance during endurance-type sports (cycling, running, cross-country skiing), performance during sport-specific tasks in football, basketball, rugby, to acutely increase muscle endurance, strength and power during resistance exercise and to beneficially affect multiple aspects of cognitive function during exercise, including attention, reaction and accuracy. SiS Caffeine Shot provides 150mg of caffeine which is sufficient to drive the aforementioned ergogenic effects on physical and mental performance during exercise.
