It took just six years for NYCFC to win the MLS Cup after their inaugural 2015 season, stunning the Portland Timbers in a tense final decided by penalties. The reigning MLS Cup champions compete in the league’s Eastern Conference and play the majority of their home games at Yankee Stadium, home of the New York Yankees baseball team. The club runs an academy to identify, develop and produce the best local youth soccer players in the New York Metropolitan area, and offers a professional and competitive pathway to the highest levels of the game for local boys and girls.
