Western United are the current Australian A-League Champions. They beat Melbourne City 2-0 in May 2022 to become the second expansion team to win the Championship and the quickest to do so in the competition’s history. Founded in 2018 as Western Melbourne following a successful bid to expand A-League professional football into western Australia, the club would later become Western United and quickly achieve success.
