The final Grand Tour of the season begins on Saturday 26th August, marking the 78th edition of La Vuelta a España, which will deliver an intense three weeks, with 21 back-to-back stages of gripping road racing. Covering over 3,000km and featuring 13 first-category climbs, five at hors categorie, it’s topped to be the ‘hardest Vuelta in history’, and a very traditional mountain-fest for the INEOS Grenadiers.

Discover each of the riders’ favourite Science in Sport products that’ll be helping them through a leg-sapping three weeks!

This year’s Spanish Tour will be led by 37-year-old Geraint Thomas, who will look to claim overall victory. Having been fuelled by Science in Sport for countless years it is no wonder that the secret to the longevity of his success might be to do with his enjoyment of SiS REGO Rapid Recovery.

He will be supported by a strong team including 2-time Grand Tour winner, Colombian rider, Egan Bernal. With his strength lying in the mountains, Egan is going to be a huge asset for the team. With his favourite Science in Sport REGO Cherry Juice, he’ll be able to recover quicker and go further, faster for longer, day after day.

Another strong climber, Thymen Arensman is an exciting addition for the Grenadiers, placing top-10 at La Vuelta last year, we cannot wait to see happens this year now he is fuelled by his favourite GO Energy Bakes.

Belgian Laurens de Plus, a team rider through and through, will be on form assisting his leader Geraint Thomas, fuelled by his favourite BETA Fuel Gels to get him through those long hilly stages.

Filippo Ganna, after having to abandon the Giro earlier this year, and recent runner up at the recent World Championship time-trial, will be hoping for a good result. His go-to SiS product are the easy to consume, BETA Fuel Chews.

Ready to ride on home soil, Spanish rider Jonathan Castroviejo is bound to enjoy this Grand Tour. Beta Fuel Chews and Go Energy Bakes are what he will have in his back pocket to help him tackle the mountains over the entire three weeks.

Omar Fraile is another rider, who will be relishing riding in his home region of Spain. He’ll be a big addition in the mountains, and if he’s found a few GO Energy Bakes at the bottom of his musette, he’ll be one to watch at the end of mountain stages!

Finally, a Grand Tour debutant in Kim Heiduk rounds out the eight-man lineup. Heiduk favourite SiS product is the Beta Fuel Chew
