Both nutrients are essential for athletes: carbs replenish glycogen for energy, while protein aids muscle repair and adaptation. Current sports nutrition research recommends 3–12g of carbs per kilogram and at least 1.6g of protein per kilogram daily for active individuals.

Carbohydrates and protein are both essential nutrients for athletes because they support energy production, recovery, muscle growth, and overall performance (1,2). Each Energy Oat Bar delivers 40g of carbohydrates to support important carbohydrate loading before exercise or competition, helping to optimize muscle glycogen stores. The 10g of added protein helps meet your daily needs and supports recovery.
Current sports nutrition guidelines show that athletes need between 1.4–5.4 g of carbohydrates per pound of body weight per day, depending on their training and competition schedule (3). The Energy Oat Bar provides 40g of carbohydrates per serving, making it a practical way to boost your daily intake between meals. It also provides 10g of protein, helping endurance athletes reach their recommended daily intake of at least 0.7 g of protein per pound of body weight. The Energy Oat Bar can also be enjoyed during long, low- to moderate-intensity training sessions and is ideal for fueling breaks or coffee stops during long rides.
