Jill Leckey, Performance Nutrition Support, Cycling AustraliaProduct Uses
Mix one serving (84 g) of Beta Fuel with 500 ml of fluid and drink little & often during exercise to meet fuelling requirements.
A rate limiting factor of exogenous carbohydrate utilization during exercise is the transportation of the nutrients across the intestinal wall. Once the sodium-dependent transporter, used to transport maltodextrin, is saturated at 60 g.h additional carbohydrate can be absorbed through another transporter, GLUT5, used to transport fructose.
Fuelling requirements for long endurance events (greater than 2.5 hours) are 60-90 g of carbohydrate per hour. The ability to deliver such high levels of carbohydrate with minimized risk of GI issues is crucial to performance. Beta Fuel can be used to meet these fuelling demands in an isotonic solution.

Why 2:1 now for Science in Sport?
2:1 ratio sports drinks aren’t new; however, historically they’re delivered in hypertonic solutions meaning a high risk of stomach upsets which is why we’ve avoided as a brand. Now, following a development cycle alongside Team Sky, 2018 Giro D’Italia Winners, Beta Fuel is a breakthrough technology delivering the optimal dosage of carbohydrate whilst maintaining an isotonic solution.
Is Beta Fuel isotonic?
Yes, when mixed to concentration (one 84 g sachet in 500 ml water) Beta Fuel is Isotonic.
How does Beta Fuel compare to other 2:1 sports drinks?
Each 500ml serving of Beta Fuel provides 80% more carbohydrate than High5 Energy Drink and 2.5 times more energy than Torq Energy Drink
How should I mix Beta Fuel?
Mix one serving (84 g) of Beta Fuel with 500 ml of fluid. No complicated directions, our drink isn’t limited by a need to use a specific type of water like other niche brands, simply mix & go.

How does Beta Fuel fit into my overall fuelling plan?

When fuelling a flat, less technical ride, drink 250 ml of Beta Fuel per hour and use additional products from the GO Energy Range to fuel with 60-90 grams of carbohydrate per hour. Because I didn’t received my order I can’t give a feedback. Hope the product is much better then there customer service. The product sounds promising
Love this fuel, I use it for long distance triathlon races, it enables me to drink the calories and therefore reduce GI distress...
Think it stops bonking. Solid rather than enhances the performance
Only used it in training so far but I didn't puke, I didn't poop my pants and I definitely didn't bonk on a 20 mile run on an empty stomach. So that's nice. Only downside is that's it's hard to mix - there's a LOT of powder to dissolve into 500ml of liquid.
I now use this as my go to for long rides, easy to use sachets take out the guess work. Mixes easily and tastes great, just remember to wash the outside of bottle after mixing, if can get sticky.
very good product, prepare the mixture in advance, takes a little time to dissolve properly in the water
Très bon produit J’en recommanderai car j’y crois
Best Fuel for a long ride
Excellent product and because they are individually wrapped it means on those long rides or sportives you can put a few extra in your jersey pockets
Must be the best energy drink going
Amazing fuel when doing hours in the saddle.
Does exactly what it says on the tin
Great for energy. Would have liked a stronger flavouring.
Great tasing product and very affective on longer rides.

I rode the Fred Whitton Challenge 2019 using beta fuel as my sole source of nutrition during the ride. I chose to do this because I find it difficult to eat solid foods/gels on the go especially on technical courses. I loaded my jersey with sachets and refilled my bottles at feed stations en route. I achieved a PB of 7h2m and was very impressed with this product. I had no issues with unsettled stomach, the drink tastes great and it kept me going! Will definitely use again for arduous long distance events!
Great stuff, a hour's worth of energy in a single bottle, makes life a lot simpler when on long rides
Great product texture and taste
Helps with the longer rides. Easy digestion
