Why do I need this?

Footballers need to take on approximately 8-10g of carbohydrates per kg of body weight the day before a game to be fully fuelled at kick-off. However research has shown that academy footballers are under-fuelled by on average 200g of carbohydrate before each match, meaning they risk running out of energy in the last 20 minutes.

PRE-90 is the ideal carbohydrate loading drink, helping footballers to easily increase their carbohydrate intake.

Research in team sports has shown that Nitrates can boost blood flow so that muscles can work harder for longer, helping to improve sprint performance. PRE-90 provides 500mg of nitrates per serving.

Why is carb loading important?

 

Carbohydrate loading is the process of storing glycogen (energy) in the muscles and liver to be used on match day. This is typically done <48 hours before a match and includes increasing carbohydrate intake in and between meals throughout the day.

 

What are nitrates?

 

Nitrates are ingested and converted into Nitric Oxide. Nitric Oxide is a gaseous signalling molecule that regulates several physiological processes that are important to exercise performance, including vasodilation, mitochondrial respiration and skeletal muscle contractility.

 

What is Beta Alanine?

 

Beta Alanine is a naturally occurring, non-essential beta amino acid. Beta Alanine supplementation can help increase muscle carnosine stores in the muscle. Beta Alanine is a commonly used supplement among sports that require periods of high-intensity exercise, strength and power e.g. football. A side effect of Beta Alanine is paraesthesia (a light tingling often in the hands).

 

What are the benefits of Montmorency tart cherry?

 

Montmorency tart cherry juice is derived from 100% montmorency cherries, naturally rich in anthocyanins and melatonin. Flavonoids are plant compounds that have both antioxidative and anti-inflammatory properties. Anthocyanins are a specific class of flavonoid shown to reduce oxidative stress. Melatonin is a hormone that regulates sleep and wakefulness.

 

When should I take this?

 

Consume two sachets the day before a game, ideally between meals in the AM and PM. Consume an additional sachet in the hours pre-match.

Do I mix this with water?

 

Yes, mix with 300ml of water and shake well
