They are designed to be consumed without water, minimising the risk of being bloated that can sometimes occur with over-drinking.

This product never fails to give me a boost when I feel my cycling energy levels starting to drop and it's got me up some big Yorkshire hills with energy to spare at the top, if I remember to eat one 15 mins before the climb.
