Dr James Morton is the World-Class knowledge Director at Science in Sport and a leading academic within the field of sports nutrition. James has worked with a multitude of elite athletes across sporting disciplines including professional boxing and at Liverpool FC, and currently holds the role of Head of Nutrition at Team Sky.
James has published hundreds of papers on sports nutrition and is a leading Reader in Exercise Metabolism & Nutrition at Liverpool John Moores University. As part of the team at Science in Sport, James brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to lead the science communications for the brand to ensure all SiS athletes at every level benefit from credible science to fuel their sports performance. He also heads up the elite performance programme for Science in Sport.
Ted is the Performance Nutritionist at Science in Sport. He comes from a sports science background having worked in elite sport for the past five years. Ted has worked with athletes in football, rugby and tennis, most recently with Hull City FC as a sports scientist. Ted continues to provide sports science and nutrition support for teams and individual athletes. He holds an MSc in Sports Science focusing on hydration and physiology in elite athletes.
Ben is a Performance Nutritionist at Science in Sport. His passion for sports science started at Loughborough University, studying Sport and Exercise Science BSc. Ben gained an MSc in Sport and Exercise Nutrition from Leeds Beckett University, with his master’s thesis focusing on nutrition knowledge, education and dietary intake of an academy group at Yorkshire CCC. Ben is a keen runner over half-marathon and marathon distances. Alongside this, he works with elite athletes in cycling, athletics and team sports.
Tom started out as a personal trainer and his love for sport and nutrition led him to undergo a BSc in Sports and Exercise Science. Since then he has gone on to gain an MSc in Exercise Physiology and has just completed his PhD in the Programming and Genetics of Strength Training at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). Whilst pursuing his love of sports science in the academic field he has worked for leading brands as a nutritional consultant, and was part of the Liverpool FC nutrition team. Tom is now lecturing within his field at LJMU. Tom works on a consultancy basis for Science in Sport to support the core science team across athlete communications and events.
The SiS team is made up of marathon runners, cyclists, triathletes, OCR runners, crossfitters, footballers (to name just a few) and all round sports nuts! SiS is a brand for sports people, by sports people.
