Finance Manager
The Role
The purpose of the Finance Manager is to produce high quality financial information which is heavily relied upon for evaluating performance and making business decisions. This role is critical at Science in Sport Group to ensure full financial control of budgets, processes, accounts and forecasting. You will collaborate with senior leaders across our business to deliver excellent outcomes.

The Work – Your 4 most important responsibilities
· Manage the month end management account process across the business, within agreed timescale, reviewing progress at key points in the month end cycle and highlighting risks and material variances to forecast to the Group Financial Controller and senior leadership
· Ensure strong financial controls are in place and continue to challenge and improve the existing controls
· Partner with other senior non-finance leaders, supporting them with preparing and managing their budgets and forecasting processes
· Support the wider finance team with their deliverables and ongoing development
Accountability – what you are responsible for delivering
· Prepare timely, accurate management accounts with supporting commentary to provide the business with a good understanding of the group financial position
· Meet all audit deliverables within agreed timescales
· Review and approve management accounts, P&L and balance sheet reconciliations
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure you and your team are supporting in the right way at the right time promoting a collaborative approach
· Identify and drive process improvement and efficiencies
· Train and coach your team to enhance knowledge and skillsets fostering a culture of continuous improvement

· ACA or ACCA Qualified Accountant (or equivalent)
· Interpersonal skills to influence and establish relationships with key stakeholders at all levels across the business
· Excellent analytical skills with a detail-focused approach
· Ability to adapt to the business fundamentals to ensure high quality of output and meet deadlines
· Highly proactive approach with strong time-management and prioritisation skills
Performance – how you will know you are doing a great job
· Management accounts are prepared accurately and on time
· Collaborating with relevant leaders, detailed reviews of A&P, Tech, People and overhead costs are completed on a monthly basis
· Clean audit opinion with no control weaknesses
· Direct reports are meeting their OKRs and have an agreed development plan
Specific metrics will be set when in role and will be reviewed and built upon regularly. Alongside this, you will be supported with a personal performance plan that will enable you to continue improving your own performance and impact.
Attributes – experience and mindset that will enable you to do well in this role
· Excellent understanding of accounting principles, financial and management reporting, and budgeting
· Previous experience with leading and managing a team
· Working knowledge of SAP One preferable
· Experience in a manufacturing environment, with overseas entities, is desirable
· Strong understanding of overseas VAT and duty
