THE ROLE

Purpose of the role is to maintain the premium brand for SiS and PhD at  Science in Sport with ensuring the company’s policies, practices and plans  are legal and ethical with selling outside of the UK & EU, supporting all  exports, labelling requirements, artworks, regulations. You will work  closely with Manufacturing, NPD, Supply Chain, Quality and Technical  collaborating on achieving the shared goal of Science in Sport being the  number one performance nutrition brand in the industry.

THE WORK - Your 4 most important tasks 

• Managing regulatory risk and changes impacting compliance
• Creating and maintaining compliance policies and procedures
• Identifying and assessing innovation opportunities and potential risks
• Oversight of legal and contractual management for the business


ACCOUNTABILITY – what you are responsible for delivering 

• Managing the Compliance for the territories outside of UK & EU and ensuring compliance with all relevant market rules, regulations, 
licensing, and registration obligations, both internally and supporting partnerships, with a main focus on brand protection
• Main point of contact for raising any non-compliances discovered internally, or directed to manage queries and complaints raised by external organisations such as auditors, regulators, government bodies etc
• Accountable to review and sign off medium risks to the business following internal risk assessment completion

 CAPABILITY - the skills and behaviours required to do this job well

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with and influence NPD, Brand, Marketing, SQA, QA, and Packaging Artwork to ensure business needs are met
• Qualification in Nutrition, Food Technology, Food Law, Food Science, Food Safety or other related subject
• Excellent decision-making skills adapting a proactive approach to resolve current and possible future risks in a logical manner
• Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders

 


PERFORMANCE – how you will know you are doing a great job

Providing governance and visibility in the area of legality and compliance - Regular checking of regulatory changes that could affect the business for food and logistics
Compliance & Packaging and Compliance across countries supplied (Product registrations helping Sales team for B2B perspective (AU, ME, Latam) - Keep US products compliant and 
amend old labels/align with The Feed, New Product Development for 2024 launches, Working on the bar line for new territories (AU, IND, US), Work on Trademarks for China, India, US and new territories
Improve specifications and compliance processes - Create Labelling policies (Align US with EU in one policy), Support with Spec updates, Health Certificates 


Specific metrics will be set when in role and will be reviewed and built upon regularly. Alongside this, you will be supported with a PDP that will enable you to continue improving 
your own performance and impact.

 


ATTRIBUTES – experience and mindset that will enable you to do well in this role 

• Good understanding of rest of the world regulations pertaining to labelling of food and food supplements for outside the UK/EU Countries, to join our Regulatory & Compliance Team
• Experience within a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritise and time manage appropriately
• Sound understanding of food supplement product registration process outside EU Member States 
• Sound understanding of food industry standard practices
• Regulatory experience working within food nutrition
