sir chris hoy

Sir Chris Hoy is a six-time Olympic track cycling gold medalist and Britain’s most successful Olympian. He has also taken 11 World titles, earning himself a fearsome reputation on the track and the admiration of sports enthusiasts across the country.

Chris has had a longstanding relationship with SiS and has been using our products for many years. As our Elite Sports Consultant, he works closely with SiS and our team of experts in hydration and nutrition, with the aim of using his experience to refine our world class nutrition products.

Winning his first World medal back in 1999 (silver in the Team Sprint), Hoy’s impressive career included 11 World and two Commonwealth titles as well as his Olympic successes. His domination of events such as the Kilo, Keirin, Sprint and Team Sprint has spanned a decade and he retired at the top of his game after his Olympic success in 2012.

At those London Olympics, Hoy won gold in the Keirin and as third man in the Team Sprint squad with team members Jason Kenny and Philip Hindes. He was also chosen to be the flag-bearer at the opening ceremony, leading Team GB at their home Olympics.

In addition to his overwhelming sporting success, Chris has a BSc in Applied Sports Science from the University of Edinburgh and has been able to offer his extensive knowledge as one of the most experienced members of the GB Track team.

Chris’ favourite SiS product is strawberry flavour REGO Rapid Recovery, something he relied heavily upon to help to repair the muscle damage done in his grueling training sessions.
