There’s no stopping the team at the moment!
Barney, in only his second year of racing, consistently finished in the top five in all rounds of the Sprinters League and amassed a huge 117 points to take him 15 points clear of the second placed rider.
Adam Duggleby, having only competed in 3 rounds of the Hard Track Endurance Series, went into the final weekends racing knowing he needed to finish 2 places ahead of his nearest rival. During the rain-affected meeting, Duggleby went on the attack from the gun in the scratch race. This proved to be a decisive and title winning move as he stayed clear with one other rider for the whole race and even took the race win to secure the series title.
Congratulations to both riders who now look forward to the National Track Championships at Manchester Velodrome later this month.

3rd July 2011 - RTTC Team Time Trial Championship
The Science in Sport Team of Adam Duggleby, Alexander Royle and Alistair Rutherford won the RTTC Team Time Trial Championship at Rake, near Petersfield. They won the Championship title by over two minutes from Cycle Premier.com-Metaltek and In Gear-Quickvit-Trainsharp RT, who were second and third respectively.
Alistair Rutherford: I was not that concerned about the lack of breakfast as I know from previous experience that a go bar is better than a bowl of cornflakes. I had my SIS Omega Shot with my Go Bar. Setting off to the race I had a bottle of PSP22, I had already decided that as the race was only 37 miles I would not need a bottle, just a Smart Gel at around 10 miles. Getting to the start line, part of my ritual is to take a Smart Gel and pop the rubbish into the drag box on my Trek Speed Concept. No bottle for the race, just a Smart Gel up my sleeve, after the race I had my Chocolate Rego Recovery with 2 scoops of Colostrum (I d had a cold up to Thursday) .
Alex Royle: I had my usual cereal, you don t want to stray away from your usual routine before a Championship Race. Traveling to the race I sipped Blackcurrant PSP22 to keep my carbohydrates stores toped up. Before the start I had a Chocolate Go bar and as it was an early start I had a Smart Gel. I find a Smart Gel before the start is a good way to start your event. I also planned to take a Smart 1 Gel just before the half way mark. I find the caffeine is a great boost in a TT, so took my 2nd Smart gel at mile 13. In addition I carried half a bottle of PSP22. As always I had a bottle of Chocolate Rego as soon as I got back to the Team Van.
Adam Duggleby: I had cereal for breakfast. While in the van I had a 500ml bottle of PSP22 and a Go Bar. As part of my ritual when getting ready I have a Smart Gel just before I warm up. I decided I would take a half bottle of Go Tropical with me due to it being a warm day. I find that I need more electrolytes than Alistair and Alex. To get some protein in my system and to kick start my recovery I had a well deserved Rego Recovery Drink.
