Dr Rob Child
Chief Scientific Officer
Rob is the Chief Scientific Officer for Science in Sport. Rob has extensive experience in working in elite sport and is the current Performance Biochemist at leading cycling team, Team Katusha. With his specialty in biochemistry, Rob brings extensive experience in improving athlete health, recovery and performance through the application of biochemistry to the SiS team.
At SiS, Rob leads on new product development through translating the latest scientific thinking into products, using his expert knowledge on the chemistry of food and cellular consequences of exercise on the body. Since joining the team, Rob has been pioneering the rapid development of new endurance nutrition products for SiS to benefit the performance of athletes at all levels.
Dr James Morton
World Class Knowledge Director
Dr James Morton is the World-Class knowledge Director at Science in Sport and a leading academic within the field of sports nutrition. James has worked with a multitude of elite athletes across sporting disciplines including professional boxing and at Liverpool FC, and currently holds the role of Head of Nutrition at Team Sky.
James has published hundreds of papers on sports nutrition and is a leading Reader in Exercise Metabolism & Nutrition at Liverpool John Moores University. As part of the team at Science in Sport, James brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to lead the science communications for the brand to ensure all SiS athletes at every level benefit from credible science to fuel their sports performance. He also heads up the elite performance programme for Science in Sport.
Ted Munson MSc.
Ted is the Performance Nutritionist at Science in Sport. He comes from a sports science background having worked in elite sport for the past five years. Ted has worked with athletes in football, rugby and tennis, most recently with Hull City FC as a sports scientist. Ted continues to provide sports science support for teams, and holds an MSc in Sports Science focusing on nutrition and physiology in elite athletes.
Elite Consultant & Professional Road and Track Cyclist
Mark Cavendish is one of the most prominent names on the World-Cycling scene and has been involved with Science in Sport for a number of years. In his role as an elite consultant, Mark uses his experience and knowledge as a professional cyclist to advise on new product developments and demands of the sport.
Dr. Tom Brownlee
Tom started out as a personal traininer and his love for sport and nutrition led him to undergo a BSc in Sports and Exercise Science. Since then he has gone on to gain an MSc in Exercise Physiology and has just completed his PhD in the Programming and Genetics of Strength Training at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). Whilst pursuing his love of sports science in the academic field he has worked for leading brands as a nutritional consultant, and was part of the Liverpool FC nutrition team. Tom is now lecturing within his field at LJMU. Tom works on a consultancy basis for Science in Sport to support the core science team across athlete communications and events.
